Community Amenities-
The City of Russell Municipal Golf Course is located in Memorial Park and is right out your front door! The Golf Course is a nine hole, bluegrass fairway course with bent grass greens. Several holes have an additional tee box, changing the course for eighteen hole play. The Golf Course also features a pro shop, putting green and driving range. Golf cart rental is also available from the course golf clubhouse.
Single Annual Memberships-Single annual memberships - $365. THAT’S ONE DOLLAR A DAY TO PLAY!
Junior memberships for youth 18 years of age and younger with play limited to Monday through Friday and after 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays $85.
Family Annual Memberships-Two family members residing in the same household may purchase an annual membership for themselves for $490. Once a family membership is purchased, persons less than 18 years of age residing in the same household may be added to the family membership for $60 per person. In addition, a family member over 18 years of age who is a full-time student and resides at least part-time in the household may be added to the family annual membership for $60.
Monthly Memberships-Monthly Membership fee $100. Monthly Memberships can be purchased at any point throughout the year, and run from the 1st day of the month, to the last day of the month.
Memorial Park- The City of Russell maintains over 160 acres of public parks, the largest and most unique being Memorial Park bordering the Municipal golf course. Neighboring Memorial Park offers an abundance of outdoor opportunities for the community including the Duke Johnson Memorial Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts with pickleball capabilities on the South court, a 1.12 mile Walking Trail, Frisbee Golf Course, Horseshoe pits, Sports Complex, Skate Park, Russell Municipal Golf Course and Play Park.

Wilson Lake- Located in the heart of the Smoky Hills is only 30 minutes from Russell. Wilson State Park is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the state. Wilson Reservoir features a rugged shoreline punctuated by scenic cliffs and rocky outcrops. The park and surrounding wildlife area offer the opportunity to view and photograph deer, pheasant, waterfowl, songbirds, and furbearers.
Wilson Reservoir offers excellent white bass and striped bass angling. The Cedar Trail in the Otoe area is a one-mile loop with a concrete surface and is great for a leisurely, low-stress walk. The 24.5-mile long Switchgrass Bike Trail is popular with mountain bikers to pursue this challenging activity.
Wilson Wildlife Area is located on the upper end of 9,000 acre Wilson Reservoir. The 8,069-acre public hunting area is made up of 5,000 acres of rugged rolling hills of native prairie, approximately 2,000 acres of cropland, and 1,000 acres of riparian timber along the Saline River, Cedar Creek, Turkey Creek, and Elm Creek. The area has a waterfowl refuge that was established in 1996.
